The NSW State Government Premier, Gladys Berejikian, announced in March 2020 that the NSW State Government will assist eligible employers through the tough economic slow down caused by COVID-19 pandemic. The employer can gain access to the subsidy after being assessed by a an approved Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) provider .
For larger employers that may also be paying NSW Payroll Tax, the Premier has stated that the payroll tax for the months of April, May and June 2020 will be waived and that the payroll tax threshold will be lifted to $1M from 1/7/2020 (brought forward one year from 1/7/2021).
